A new age of measured survey

Nick Hampson started his series of talks "A New Age of Measured Survey" in July with a well attended lunchtime talk at a Manchester based architectural practice.

Aimed at bringing awareness of cutting edge laser scanning technology to a wider audience, Nick discusses the features and benefits of laser scan survey and pointcloud data, with examples from recent projects including work at the Olympic site in Stratford.

The talk discusses the advantages of rapid mass data capture and the benefits of pointcloud data, as well as discussing the practicality of working with large data sets.

The post talk question and answer session attracted great interest and the potential to use the system to provide data to a BIM project was one interesting line of questioning.
