Malcolm Hughes is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of the business interests of Capital Surveys Limited (CSL).
CSL, based near St Albans, was incorporated in 1987 and over a period of 30 years built up a large and diverse client list in London and the South East. Clients included the Environment Agency and its predecessor, the National Rivers Authority, for whom CSL undertook over 1,000 separate surveying jobs, including river channel surveys for flood modelling, repeat precise deformation monitoring surveys of flood storage and flood defence structures, and topographic surveys. Crossrail was also a client and CSL undertook as-built surveys of existing London Underground and Network Rail stations for the design of the new railway, and the establishment of the primary level control network for the whole project.
For the year up to the actual date of acquisition Malcolm Hughes surveyors worked alongside CSL staff in order to gain experience in the specific types of surveys that CSL undertook, and to ensure a smooth and successful takeover of responsibilities.
